Davell was pleased to welcome Simon Kennedy MP, Federal Member for Cook, to our Kirrawee manufacturing facility as we celebrate 80 years of manufacturing in Australia.
Located in the Cook electorate, Davell has operated from the same Kirrawee site since 1946. Over eight decades, the business has evolved from manufacturing stoves in the years following the Second World War to designing and manufacturing steel lockers, storage systems, shelving and customised solutions for customers across Australia.
The visit gave Mr Kennedy the opportunity to learn about our history, tour the facility, meet the Davell team and see firsthand the products being made locally. He also spoke about the importance of strengthening Australia’s manufacturing capability and supporting businesses that continue to make products here.
“We need to be making more things in this country, manufacturing more in Australia,” Mr Kennedy said.
“We need to start making things again in this country. Get Australian manufacturing back in Australia. And I’m proud to see this in the Sutherland Shire.”
For Davell, the visit was an opportunity to share an important milestone and showcase the Australian manufacturing capability, skills and experience that have sustained the business for 80 years.
Davell remains committed to manufacturing locally and supporting Australian jobs, skills and supply chains.
